EAST JORDAN PLASTICS is Hiring a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor Near South Haven, MI
We have an immediate opening for an experienced and self-motivated Shipping & Receiving Supervisor in our South Haven location. The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for coordination and supervision of the warehouse/shipping and receiving functions to meet the company objectives and production goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop practices, procedures, goals and objectives for department and the strategies and methodologies to implement and/or achieve them.
- Report out daily department metrics and perform routine checks.
- Oversee all incoming and outgoing activity and ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Report inventory levels accurately and use it to contribute to cross functional success.
- Assist with loads, unloads, material transport, and other departmental tasks.
- As necessary, review and/or complete shipping notices, bills of lading, orders, and other related documentation.
- Supervise staff to include but not limited to designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work, and providing input for performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
- Provide continuing oversight and training of staff to increase their levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures. Modify and improve safety practices as needed.
- Responsible for the facilities Hi-Lo training program and issuing of Hi-Lo licenses.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, timeliness, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
- Must be able to hold a Hi-Lo License.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening and authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to bend, twist, climb, stand, sit, and lift items of up to 50lb
- Must be able to drive a Hi-Lo and scissor lift.
- Must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug screen.
